Back in the day...whenever that was !
A quirky but hopefully interesting view on the bits of motoring history that you might have missed.
After a lifetime of fiddling about with motor cars and bikes I find that, nowadays, I'm much more interested in the people involved rather than the mechanical minutiae. The people who made them, be they factory owner or artisan; the people who drove them be they the clerk taking the family on holiday in his Austin Seven or the glitterati speeding to the Riviera in the Delage.
I hope you will find some of my posts vaguely interesting and frequently amusing...there are too many overly serious anoraks in the classic car world. If you're looking for the crankshaft end-float tolerances for a 1923 Targa Florio model Nebiolo you wont find it herein but...you might learn what happened when Gabriel Voisin turned up in a C3 at a lady's house wearing only his pyjamas and carrying a bottle of Moët and two glasses. It's that kind of blog!
