Back in the day...whenever that was

A quirky but hopefully interesting view on the bits of motoring history that you might have missed.

After a lifetime of fiddling about with motor cars and bikes I find that, nowadays, I'm much more interested in the people involved rather than the mechanical minutiae. The people who made them; the people who bought and drove them, worked on them, sold them and, of course, raced them.

I hope you will find some of my posts vaguely interesting and frequently amusing...there are too many overly-serious anoraks in the classic car world.  If you're looking for the crankshaft end-float tolerances for a 1923 Targa Florio model Nebiolo you wont find it herein but...you might learn what happened when Gabriel Voisin turned up in a C3 at a lady's house wearing only his pyjamas and carrying a bottle of Moët and two glasses.
It's that kind of blog!
